Sukkot

Sukkot, also known as the Feast of Tabernacles or Feast of Booths, is a weeklong Jewish holiday that begins on the 15th day of Tishrei, five days after Yom Kippur. It celebrates the gathering of the harvest and commemorates the miraculous protection provided by G‑d for the children of Israel when they left Egypt.

During Sukkot, Jewish families build and dwell in temporary structures called sukkahs, which symbolize the fragile dwellings used by the Israelites during their 40 years in the desert.

The holiday is marked by festive meals, the waving of the Four Species (etrog, lulav, hadass, and aravah), and special prayers of thanksgiving.

Sukkot is a time of joy and gratitude, emphasizing hospitality and community.
